What we Believe

At Emmanuel Community Church, we are committed to living out the timeless truth of Jesus Christ in a way that speaks to today’s world. We believe:

  • God loves us unconditionally and continually invites us to follow Him.

  • Jesus Christ is God’s one and only Son.

  • The Bible is God’s flawless Word, a trustworthy guide for all of life — including work, family, relationships, and more.

  • True and lasting life change begins when we follow Jesus.

  • Every believer has gifts, abilities, and life experiences that God wants to use to bless others and build up His Church.

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed as one God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins through His death on the cross. He rose again on the third day, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Jesus ascended into Heaven and will one day return to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He works in the world to draw people to Jesus and lives within every believer from the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit empowers us for daily living, gives insight into spiritual truth, guides our decisions, and equips each believer with spiritual gifts. We seek to walk daily under His direction and power.

About the Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and is completely true in all that it teaches.

About Humanity

Every person is made in the image of God and created with great value and purpose. However, all of us have sinned — choosing our own way instead of God’s — which separates us from Him and brings brokenness into our lives.

About Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn salvation through good works or self-effort. When we turn from our sin and trust in Jesus, we are forgiven, made new, and begin a new life in relationship with God. Eternal life starts the moment we receive Jesus by faith.

About Eternal Security

Because salvation is by grace and not by works, believers can have confidence in their relationship with God. Salvation is secure as long as we continue to trust and follow Jesus. God’s grace keeps us, and His Spirit helps us walk faithfully with Him.

About Eternity

God created us to live forever — either in eternal union with Him or eternal separation. Heaven and Hell are real. Eternal life in Heaven is a gift offered through Jesus to all who receive Him.

About Baptism

Baptism is a beautiful picture of what Jesus has done for us — His death, burial, and resurrection (see 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, Colossians 2:12). It’s also a public declaration of our decision to follow Jesus (Romans 6:4). Baptism does not save us, but it is an important step of obedience for every believer after receiving Christ by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9).

In the New Testament, baptism was the first step new believers took to express their faith and begin their journey with Jesus. It’s a powerful symbol of our new life in Him.
