At Emmanuel Community Church, we are committed to the timeless truth of Jesus Christ and to living out that truth with grace, love, and faithfulness in today’s world.
We are a Bible believing Christian church in Port Perry, affiliated with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, centred on Jesus, and shaped by the historic Christian faith and the Full Gospel message that Christ is Saviour, Healer, Spirit Baptizer, and Soon Coming King.
We believe:
God loves us and invites us to know Him, follow Him, and worship Him.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Saviour and Lord.
The Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God.
True and lasting life change begins when we turn to Jesus and follow Him.
The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live faithfully, serve humbly, and witness boldly.
Every believer has gifts, abilities, and life experiences that God can use to bless others and build up His Church.
We believe there is one true God, the Creator and Ruler of all things. He has eternally existed as one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is holy, loving, just, faithful, and worthy of all worship.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins through His death on the cross.
He rose again on the third day, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and will one day return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We look forward to His return when He will restore all things and bring His kingdom in fullness.
In a broken world, our hope is found in Jesus.
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, co equal with the Father and the Son. The Spirit draws people to Jesus, lives within every believer, and empowers us to live as followers of Christ.
The Spirit empowers a Spirit empowered life, equipping believers for worship, service, witness, and mission. The Spirit gives wisdom, forms Christlike character, guides us in truth, and distributes spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church. At Emmanuel, we value Spirit empowered life, the exercise of gifts with love and order, bold witness, and prayer for the sick.
At Emmanuel, we desire to walk daily under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture is trustworthy, authoritative, and our final guide for faith, teaching, correction, wisdom, and daily life. We love opening God’s Word together and seeking to live it out in our homes, our church, our town, and beyond.
We believe every person is created in the image of God and has great value, dignity, and purpose.
At the same time, all people have sinned and chosen their own way instead of God’s. Sin separates us from God and brings brokenness into our lives, our relationships, and our world.
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
We cannot earn salvation through good works, religious effort, or self improvement. When we turn from sin and trust in Jesus, we are forgiven, made new, and brought into relationship with God. Eternal life begins when we receive Jesus by faith and continues forever with Him.
We believe faith in Jesus is not only something we believe, it is a life we are called to live.
Following Jesus means trusting His Word, loving God, loving people, growing in holiness, walking in humility, and learning to obey Him in every part of life. We do this by God’s grace and through the help of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, care for one another, and serve the world in love.
Church is more than a Sunday service. At Emmanuel, church is a community where people can be known, encouraged, challenged, restored, and sent out to live for Jesus. We seek to walk together in unity, truth, love, humility, and prayer.
We believe every believer has been given gifts, abilities, and life experiences that God can use to bless others and build up His Church.
Spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit for the strengthening of the body of Christ and the mission of God. They are to be used with love, humility, wisdom, biblical order, and accountability.
We believe God still hears and answers prayer. We believe Jesus is our Healer, and we are invited to pray for the sick, the hurting, and the broken.
We trust God’s goodness, seek His will, and pray with faith, compassion, and humility.
We believe water baptism is an important step of obedience for every believer.
Baptism does not save us. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public declaration that we belong to Jesus and a powerful picture of His death, burial, and resurrection. In baptism, we celebrate the new life Jesus gives.
We believe God created us to live forever. Heaven and Hell are real.
Eternal life with God is offered through Jesus Christ to all who receive Him by faith. Apart from Christ, humanity remains separated from God. Because of Jesus, we can have forgiveness, hope, resurrection life, and the promise of eternity with Him.
Emmanuel Community Church is affiliated with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. As a PAOC church, we affirm the historic Christian faith, evangelical convictions, and the Full Gospel message that Christ is Saviour, Healer, Spirit Baptizer, and Soon Coming King.
